One of JAAD Partners’ other private equity clients had entered the exercise period for the Option to Extend its lease, but the client was concerned that market rents had fallen and it was seeking flexibility in its lease strategy given changes in working habits as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Even though the firm’s office suite was located in a building owned by a publicly-traded institutional landlord not known for flexibility, in June 2021 JAAD Partners was able to negotiate a lease with a short 30-month term and a move to a superior office suite located on a higher floor. JAAD was also able to obtain an FF&E allowance for its client.
